America’s Credit Unions announced GECU President and CEO Crystal Long as the recipient of the 2024 Greg Inman Servant Leadership Award. She was recognized during the Governmental Affairs Conference in Washington, D.C. for her dedication to supporting others, her commitment to the community and her passionate leadership.

This prestigious, industry-wide recognition is awarded by America’s Credit Unions to a credit union professional who demonstrates outstanding servant leadership principles — valuing and developing people, building community, displaying authenticity and providing and sharing leadership.

“Crystal epitomizes the true essence of a servant leader, demonstrating unwavering commitment, compassion, and a genuine dedication to serving others. One of her remarkable attributes is her ability to empower others, fostering an environment where everyone feels valued and inspired to grow and reach their full potential,” said Alex Rascon, GECU Executive Vice President — CFO.

In 2022, the Greg Inman Servant Leadership Award was created to commemorate and honor the life of late CUNA Councils leader, Greg Inman, who embodied the principles of servant leadership.

Servant leadership is deeply embedded in the credit union movement and the people helping people philosophy that our credit union lives by. Every day we go above and beyond supporting our members and communities with the financial products and services they need. We provide free financial education, support affordable family fun for everyone and provide much-needed resources to make a lasting impact on the lives of others. Through the GECU Foundation, we help many organizations that share our passion for elevating the communities we serve through scholarships, and health and financial well-being initiatives.
