1. Accept the skip-a-payment offer by logging in to your GECU Online Banking account or your GECU Mobile Banking account with the GECU Mobile App.

2. Once each borrower on the loan accepts through their own online or mobile banking account, a $15 processing charge will be assessed on your GECU checking or savings account for each loan payment skipped. The fee will be applied to the second borrower accepting the offer.

3. If you set up automatic payments at gecu.com, you can log in to your online banking account and update the next payment date. If you set up automatic payments using an external account, please contact the other financial institution to cancel or edit your next payment. If we set up your automatic payments from an external account, please contact us by using the GECU Chat.

  • Why is my loan showing that it doesn’t qualify?
    Your loan may not qualify for one or more of the following reasons:

    • You may have already accepted a loan extension or your available Holiday Skip-a-payment offers.

    • Funds for the processing charge are not available in a GECU savings or checking account at this time.

    • Loans are not in good standing.

    • GECU credit cards, lines of credit and mortgage, Christmas, Fast Cash™, business, and credit builder loans are not eligible.

    • Loans that are modified due to financial hardship or are under GECU Credit Counseling Services do not qualify for this service.

    • Loans with more than two late payments in the current year do not qualify.

    • The value of your vehicle compared to your loan balance may not meet the criteria.

    • Other conditions apply.

  • How can I get access to my GECU Online Banking account?
  • Do all borrowers on a loan need to submit a request?
    Yes, all borrowers on the loan will need to complete the form in order to have the request completed. If you need help accessing your online banking account, you can request your online banking username and reset your password online now.
  • Why is there a processing charge on my Holiday Skip-a-payment offer?
    The purpose of this charge is to cover processing costs. This charge is consistent and competitive with other financial institutions.
  • When applying, I continue to receive an error message and I am unable to access my offer. What should I do?
    Our system undergoes maintenance during certain times. Please allow up to an hour and a half for updates to be made. After that, you can then return to our page and complete the process.
  • How will I be charged for the processing fee?
    The charge will be deducted from either your GECU savings or checking account that you select at the moment that the form is completed. If there are two borrowers, the fee will be deducted from the second borrower accepting the offer.
  • After I accept the offer, how will my upcoming payment be adjusted?
    If you set up automatic payments at gecu.com to withdraw from an account at another financial institution or from your GECU account, you can log in to your online account and update the next payment date. If you set up automatic payments using another financial institution’s bill-pay service, please contact them to cancel or edit your next payment. If we set up automatic payments for you, please contact us. If we set up automatic payments for you from an external account, please contact us with the GECU Chat.
*Interest and life/disability insurance premiums will continue to accrue during the period when no payment is made. Skipping a payment will extend the loan’s maturity date. Other conditions apply.
